About Us
Where Tradition Meets Innovation
Welcome to Black Ginger, a Korean-American restaurant in Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood. We are dedicated to blending traditional Korean flavors with techniques from around the globe, including Spanish, French, Peruvian, Thai, and Japanese. Our chefs craft each dish with care, combining authentic techniques, innovative twists, and locally sourced produce to create a unique culinary experience.
We believe the best meals are shared with community, and so all of our dishes are built to be shared at the table. Our tasting-style menu invites you to explore and experience a variety of flavors, textures, and presentations.
Korean Hospitality
밥 먹었어요?
[Bap meogeosseoyo]
Have you eaten?

The Korean equivalent to "how are you", this greeting recognizes the essential relationship between food and wellbeing. We believe that feeding others is an act of care, and so we strive to care for our guests and community by providing Korean hospitality in a stylish contemporary setting.
Our menu accommodates a wide range of dietary restrictions, with many vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
Drinks At The Bar
Our full service bar shares the same creative spirit as our kitchen, exploring unique flavors and ingredients to create our roster of craft cocktails. We offer a wide variety of draft beers, wines, and spirits, including local brands from right here in Detroit. Japanese liquors and Korean soju round out our selection and are a favorite both at the table and in our cocktails. Enjoy drink and food specials at our bar during our weekday Happy Hour, running from 4:00pm-6:00pm.
